best book marketing strategiesYou’re most likely reading this because you are looking for the best book marketing strategies to help you sell more books.

First of all, kudos for knowing that as an independent author, you are your own marketing department. It can be overwhelming to wear so many hats.

As a means to provide you with clear, concise tactics you can use over and over again to drive your books toward success, I’m going to share a project that Author Brand Kits jumped into with BOTH feet!

The Backstory

You may or may not know that I got my start as a Virtual Assistant and I am still actively working as a VA now. My main focus as a VA has been working with authors to help them in all aspects of self-publishing their books.

In 2016, I began working with Dale L. Roberts. You may know him from his moderately popular YouTube channel, Self Publishing with Dale. This was really a turning point for me in my business. I’ll spare you my gushing over Dale, but let me just say besides being a great client, he is a cheerleader, motivator, and supporter of Author Brand Kits.

At the end of 2020, Dale hatched this brilliant idea he called Book Rescue. He’d been working with this guy with a decent book catalog who was having trouble connecting the dots.

After several months, the pilot episode of Book Rescue was born:

After everything that happened in 2020, that video was a dose of feel-good I needed and I felt like the whole world needed it too.

Dale had plans.

He wanted to run a couple of seasons of this concept as a sort of show on his YouTube channel. He would find candidates with interesting backstories he felt were relatable to his audience and work with them directly to teach them the best book marketing strategies.

I had to be a part of it.

I had just started Author Brand Kits, and I knew I had the infrastructure to toss my service in the bag with the rest.

I had the great privilege of building Thomas’ website, but it was too late in production for Author Brand Kits to be featured in that video.

Fast forward to Book Rescue: Season 1 Episode 4:

The Best Book Marketing Strategies Walkthrough

Season 1 of Book Rescue has differed from the Pilot episode. Rather than cover all the best book marketing strategies in one video like he did with Thomas, Dale has separated each aspect of the process into 6 episodes. Following the strategies covered in these videos is like a book marketing walkthrough.

The episodes focus on the following topics:

The main take away for you as an author and viewer of Book Rescue is that you can duplicate these strategies for yourself to increase your own sales.

It’s more affordable than you might think.

Cash-strapped and can’t afford expensive keyword research software? Check out Dale’s free tutorial or you can hire me to do it for you.

You can get Brian Meeks’ book description template free from Dale if you sign up for his Book Rescue email list.

For example, the eBook covers from OliviaProDesign in Episode 3 were FIVE DOLLARS.

The clickable HTML email signatures I order from RSThemes are also $5.

An Author Brand Kit is just $499. Try finding just a website for that price. You see what your Author Brand Kit would look like in the video above as I reveal Robert’s to him.

My Most Meaningful Project to Date

I’ve never been a part of anything so rewarding. Getting to work with these authors directly and making a difference is all I can hope for, especially for Author Brand Kits.

I’m able to do something I enjoy and that I believe in. I get to support the amazing self-publishing community. I get to complement other products and services by filling a gap in the industry. It doesn’t get any better.
